Mysuru: With Ashada Friday commencing from June 30 and Chamundi Vardhanthotsava falling on July 16, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep held a meeting of officials at Dasoha Bhavan atop Chamundi Hill here this morning to gear up for the preparations as lakhs of devotees visit the temple atop Chamundi Hill on Ashada Fridays.
As usual, private vehicles will not be allowed to go up the hill on those Fridays and on Vardanthosava day. Free transport will be provided by KSRTC buses from Helipad to hill-top.
Randeep asked officials to issue a minimum of two-wheeler pass and a four-wheeler pass to residents of Chamundi Hill.
He asked KSRTC officials to work on the idea to run buses from two other locations to Chamundi Hill other than from city bus stand to clear the rush.
The DC asked Police officials to ensure proper barricading to control the crowd and suggested to have a separate entry for devotees with Rs. 250 special seva tickets. He told health officials to station ambulances at vantage points to manage any eventuality.
DCPs Dr. H.T. Shekar and Rudramuni, Tahsildar Ramesh Babu, Muzrai Tahsildar Yathiraj, Temple Executive Officer K.M. Prasad and others officials participated in the meeting.
