Assembly Session from Sept. 13; None should be absent: Speaker

Bengaluru: Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri on Wednesday instructed law-makers and Ministers not to be absent in the Legislative Assembly Session which is scheduled from Sept. 13.

Speaking to newsmen, he said: “we have received 18 Bills from the State Government. I had instructed the Government that the Bill should be placed well before the Session starts. During the Session, the Legislators and Ministers were asked not to avail leave and the matter was brought to the notice of Chief Minister Basavarj Bommai and all Ministers.’

On Sept. 24, a Special Joint Session would be called and there would be discussions on Parliamentary values. We will also invite Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for a Special Joint Session.

He said that he has held talks with the CM and the Council Chairperson in this connection.
