Attempt to blackmail woman; daughter lodges complaint against two

Mysore/Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have registered a case against two persons on charges of attempting to blackmail a woman by threatening to send her photos and voice recording to her relatives.

The woman’s daughter in her complaint has stated that her distant relative Umapathi of Coimbatore and Sheela Gopal, a resident of Aravinda Nagar in city are the ones who blackmailed and threatened her mother.

She has further stated that Umapathi had recorded the conversation between her mother and him over the phone and had downloaded her mother’s photos from her (mother) mobile phone without her knowledge.

Using the same photos and voice recordings, they threatened her mother of sending the photos and voice recordings to her relatives thus blackmailing her resulting in her mother getting depressed.

The girl in her complaint to Kuvempunagar Police has sought legal action against the two.
