Autorickshaw Union expresses concern

June 12, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: With the Government rolling out free travel for women in KSRTC buses, Mysuru Autorickshaw Service Trust, Ittigegud, has expressed concern that the free travel will severely hurt the income of auto drivers.

In a press release, Trust President B. Nagaraj said, free travel will result in women passenger loss to autos, which in turn will severely hurt the earnings of auto drivers. Free bus travel has created a sense of insecurity  for auto drivers, he said adding the Government is to be squarely blamed for any loss of revenues to auto drivers. Govt. should come up with a financial package that provides a sense of  security to auto drivers, he said.
