Ayur Matam Academic Institute to offer Ayurveda courses

Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Ayur Matam – Academic Institute of Ayurveda and Yogic Sciences (AM-AIAYS), affiliated to the University of Mysore (UoM), will offer specialised courses in Ayurveda Sciences, with a teaching hospital attached to it. Its mission is to extend the reach and efficacy of health professionals for daily life and living  through Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Ayushman Bharat’ to all the four corners of the country.

Announcing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan yesterday, Ayur Matam Founder-Managing Director Dr. Manu B. Menon said, “AM-AIAYS is a one of its kind centre in holistic health services, offering root cause treatments that rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit. The institute will offer bridge-courses in Ayurveda Nursing, Yoga, Marma Chikitsa, Panchakarma, Kalaripayattu, Medicine preparation and general healthcare.” 

By recognising AM-AIAYS and its innovative academic programmes in ancient Indian treatment methods and Heritage Arts-Sciences, the UoM has accorded recognition to these courses. This would tap huge employment potential through certified Ayurveda practitioners, thus fulfilling the need for trained and University certified Ayurveda personnel in Ayurveda health delivery systems worldwide, added Dr. Menon. 

Courses offered

 B.Sc (Ayurveda): 3-year duration and those who have passed PU-Science may apply;  Diploma in Ayurveda, Panchakarma and Yoga: One-year course and those who have passed PU (any domain) are eligible; Post-Graduate Diploma in Marma Chikitsa: Any medical graduate can apply for this one-year course [Admissions in April].

Certificate courses  in Kalaripayattu (Traditional Martial Arts) and Ayurveda Panchakarma: SSLC passed may apply for this six-month course [November and May].
