Global Cauvery Ayurvedic Research & Development conference opens

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-day CCARD International Conference-2025, jointly organised by Cauvery Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru, and the Maharaja Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences and Hospital (MIAMSH), Mandya, began yesterday at SDM-IMD auditorium  in city.

The conference, titled “Intersecting Nutrition, Lifestyle Medicine and Sustainable Health Care,” focused on ‘diet, lifestyle and health perspectives.’

Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan, who was the chief guest, said that chemically contaminated food, air and water have made human life increasingly difficult.

He stressed that adopting Ayurvedic principles related to diet and lifestyle could significantly boost immunity and help prevent diseases.

Dr. B.C. Bhagavan, Vice- Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, who presided, said rapid changes in lifestyle, environment, food habits and mechanised living had led to the emergence of new psychosomatic disorders.

 Emphasising the relevance of Ayurveda, he noted that with the integration of modern technology and innovative research, Ayurveda has the potential to address global health challenges.

Dr. Narayan Jadhav, Member, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi, inaugurated the scientific sessions and briefed delegates on various policies formulated by Central Government for AYUSH practitioners.

MLA G.T. Devegowda was the special guest. Dr. V. Prakash, former Director of CFTRI, Mysuru, delivered the keynote address. The conference began with Vedic chanting by Vidwan Kalasheshwara Bhat and team.

Chairman of Cauvery Group of Institutions, Dr. G.R. Chandrashekhar, welcomed. The conference souvenir was released by Dr. Ashwath Narayan. MIAMSH Principal Dr. N.V. Krishnamurthy proposed the vote of thanks. More than 650 delegates from India and abroad are participating in the meet.

Medical Superintendent Dr. V. Poornima, Director Dr. N. Krishnaprasad, Convener and Principal Dr. S.N. Ramachandra of Cauvery Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital and others were present.
