The NSS Unit of GSSS Badriprasadji Pre-University College, Siddarthanagar, has been conferred the prestigious ‘National Young Leadership Award’ by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in recognition of the social services rendered by the NSS unit, in Lalithadripura village and Basapura village of Nanjangud taluk.

The Department has also recognised the community services rendered by the NSS unit of the College and all-round development of the NSS volunteers.  

The Award was presented by the NSS Cell of Department of Pre-University Education at the prize distribution function organised at Gandhi Bhavan, Bengaluru, on Mar. 3.

Dr. Gananatha Shetty Ekkar, Regional NSS Officer, Arun Poojar, State NSS Officer, Gayathri Reddy, State NSS Coordinator, Department of Pre-University Education, Lion C.R. Dinesh, Assistant Co-ordinator, Mysuru division, were present.

The award, which carries a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 and a memento, was received by B.K. Nataraj, Member & Co-Ordinator, GSSS, D.S. Prashanth, Principal and S.V. Thirthegowda, Programme Officer of the unit.

Darshan of 2nd PU was also bestowed with the ‘Best NSS Volunteer Directorate Award’ on the occasion. He has bagged a cash prize of Rs. 3,000 and a memento.
