Mysuru: The newly formed Basava Balaga Trust (Mysuru East Zone), located in JSS Layout 2nd Stage, Yandalli Road in city, will be inaugurated on June 1.

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Trust President Shivaswamy said that Basava Jayanti will also be celebrated on the occasion. Stage programme will take place at 6 pm in the presence of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji. Former IPS officer Shankar Bidari, MLA H.M. Ganesh Prasad, Additional DC Dr. P. Shivaraju and others will be present. The programme will also feature presentation of ‘Pratibha Puraskar’ to meritorious children of Trust members who have scored more than 90 percent marks in SSLC and PUC (2024-25) and felicitation of achievers belonging to Veerashaiva-Lingayat community.

Trust office-bearers D. Lohith, Srikantamurthy, Mahadevaswamy, Naganna, T.G. Nagendra, Devappa, Prabhuswamy and Kumaranna were present at the press meet.
