Mysore/Mysuru: Rangayaana Trust, Mysuru, has organised three-day ‘Bharataranga Natakotsava-2022’ from Aug. 13 to 15 at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here.
Disclosing this at a press meet here yesterday, Trust President Vikas Chandra said the theatre fest features plays, folk dances, musical plays and theatre songs. Artists will exhibit different art forms on all three days at 6 pm which will be followed by staging of plays at 7 pm.
Aug. 13: Inauguration at 6.30 pm. Kadamba Ranga Vedike President Rajashekara Kadamba, Abhiyenthararu President Suresh Babu, Sri Rajeshwari Vastralankara Rangatanda President B.M Ramachandra, Sanchalana President Deepak Mysuru, Niranthara Foundation President Prasad Kundur, Krishna Janamana of Desiranga Samskrutika Samsthe, Bharataranga Natakotsava-2022 Convener H. Nataraj and others will be present. At 7 pm, the play ‘Udho Udho Ellavva’ of Belur Raghunandan, directed by Krishna Murthy Kavattar will be staged by Saviranga team of Bengaluru.
Aug. 14: Folk dance at 6 pm which will be followed by Sufi music at 6.30 pm. The play ‘Vishwamitra mathu Menake Dance Madodu Enake? Ask Mr. YNK’ of Jogi, directed by Uday Nusrat Sabri, will be staged at 7 pm.
Aug. 15: Girijana Samagra Abhivrudhi Kala Samsthe, Kodagu will present ‘Sodedimmi’ tribal dance at 6 pm. Sri Nataraja Performing Arts Centre will present Nritya Roopaka at 6.30 pm. ‘Soligara Bale’, a play by Dr. Sujatha Akki and directed by Vikas Chandra will be staged at 7 pm.
MLA G.T. Devegowda, Mysore Paints and Varnish Limited Chairman N.V. Phaneesh, Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjuna Swamy, Hyderabad-Karnataka Sahitya Mandira Hon. President Vittal Joshi and others will be present at the valedictory programme.
