Sugama Sangeetha Academy Trust, Mysuru, is the brain-child of H.R. Leelavathi and late S.G. Raghuram couple, founded in the year 1985. The Trust also consisted of many leading culturally-oriented senior citizens of Mysuru and after the demise of Raghuram, the onus of organising music programmes fell on Leelavathi who is effectively carrying on the crusade in a diligent manner.
The current programme is on the 31st (Sunday) and the venue is Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha auditorium, JLB Road at 6 pm. The singers are a motley group of about 30 ladies, all disciples of Leelavathi. They are sure to enthrall the audience with the lilting songs of our poets given life in the form of raga and thala tuned by the duo (Leelavathi and late Raghuram). Bhavayana is a musical tribute to Raghuram.
The artistes who would provide instrumental support to the singers are: C. Viswanath on mandolin, Purushotham on harmonium, Indushekar on tabla, Raghavendra Prasad on rhythm pad.
The programme, brilliantly orchestrated, is open to all connoisseurs of art and music.
