Bhramara Lifetime Awards presentation on Mar.10

Mysuru: Two doctors from JSS Medical College, Mysuru and one doctor from Chennai have won the Bhramara Lifetime Awards – 2018.  The awards would be presented at a function on Mar. 10 at 11.30 am at Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College, Bannimantap.

Awardees

Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Professor and Principal, JSS Medical College and Dean, Faculty of Medicine, will receive the Bhramara Lifetime Service Award for Medical Education and Research. He has presented over 165 Papers in various academic forums, given numerous prestigious orations and won many awards. He has ignited interest in research among the students and faculty of the JSS Medical College. He is an able administrator, an endearing colleague, an inspiring teacher and a   caring Physician.

Dr. Shama Sundar, Professor of Anatomy, JSS Medical College and ex-Dean, Faculty of Bio-Medical Sciences, JSS University, will receive the Bhramara Lifetime Award for Research and Service to Society. He has published more than 40 papers in highly reputed medical journals and has established the first Plastination Museum in India. In Neuroscience research, he has created the First Alzheimer’s animal model and the second Depression Brain Bank in the world. He started JSS Body Donation Association in the College 23 years ago and has a record registration of 2,968 plus people for donation of their bodies.  He has conducted more than 5,000 operations almost free, taking only medicine charges from poor and needy people since the last 33 years.

Dr. V. Rajan Iyer (late) will be given posthumously the Bhramara Lifetime Award for Service to Humanity. He was the Director of Metaphysical Energy Medicine Unit at the TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.   He delivered the metaphysical energy through acupuncture points to cure patients. He corrected Microcellular imbalances through infusion of Macrocosmic energy via the acupuncture needle points. He had several years of experience in this modality of healing human illness.  Well-documented, computerised data show that in several hundreds of cases, in a variety of acute and chronic clinical conditions, they have had very promising results through the use of energy medicine.

Dr. C.V. Krishnaswami, the famous Diabetologist, is the Chairman and Prof. B.M. Hegde, former Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, is the Co-Chairman of TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre. The JSS Hospital, Mysuru, had arranged a three-day camp on Oct. 24, 25 and 26 where Dr. Rajan Iyer treated the patients.

The most significant contribution of Dr. Rajan Iyer was to improve the insulin; like activity (reflected in the increase of C-Peptide value in the blood) of Type 1 diabetes/or Juvenile Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (JIDDM). This monumental work resulted in the publication of the Scientific Paper “Fasting C- Peptide Response and its Clinical Impact in Type 1 Diabetics to a Novel Metaphysical Energy Healing Therapy- Preliminary Experience and Observations”  in the Journal of Diabetes Mellitus (JDM). Other papers are also either published or under publication in highly rated peer reviewed international medical journals. He treated (cured or relieved) thousands of patient; rich or poor free of charge throughout his period at TAG-VHS DRC. Unfortunately, he passed away on Nov.19, 2016 in Coimbatore.

The Bhramara Trust of Y.T. and Madhuri Thathachari will present Bhramara’s Lifetime Achievement Awards in the presence of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Srikshetra, who will deliver the benediction. Padma Shri Dr. D.R.  Kaarthikeyan, Advisor, Law-Human Rights-Corporate Affairs, and former Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Director General, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Special Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), will preside. Dr. S. Sacchidanand, Director of Medical Education Department, Karnataka, will be the chief guest. Dr. Col. Rajendra Chaturvedi, Chairman, “Drishti” and former Director of JSS Hospital, Mysuru, will be the guest of honour.
