Coinciding with 75 years of India’s Independence and celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mysuru will be celebrating World Bicycle Day on June 3.
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mysuru, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Cycling My Sooru Training Academy, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) and National Service Scheme (NSS) of University of Mysore (UoM) have jointly organised a bicycle rally from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Palace North Gate, tomorrow (June 3) at 7.30 am.
The rally will be organised at 75 main iconic places throughout the country which will cover a minimum distance of 7.5 kms.
The rally will pass through Hardinge Circle, Gun House, Ramaswamy Circle, Maharaja Grounds Circle, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office Road, Hunsur Road, Railway Station Circle, K.R. Hospital Road, Head Post Office Circle and Ashoka Road before culminating at the starting point.
DC Dr. Bagadi Gautham will be the chief guest. City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, Additional DC Dr. B. S. Manjunathaswamy, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K.H. Prasad, Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya, DYES Assistant Director K. Suresh, UoM NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. M.B. Suresh, Arjuna awardee and International Sports trainer Arunkumar H. Patil and Cycling My Sooru Training Academy Trainer Nagaraj will be present.
