Book ‘Baduki Bandavaru’ released

February 11, 2019

Mysuru:  Marking World Cancer Day, Sanjeevini Cancer Care Trust and Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital had organised a function at Platinum Jubilee Hall in J.K. Grounds here on Monday, for the release of the book ‘Baduki Bandavaru’ written by     Ramesh Bilikere.

Inaugurating the prog.,  Actor Vijaya Raghavendra observed that cancer though claimed as a deadly terminal disease, many patients have survived  with the disease who should be introduced to cancer victims to infuse courage and confidence. He asked the cancer patients not to lose hope but to derive inspiration from surviving cancer victims.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education (RIMSE) Convenor Sri Maheshatmanandaji, citing the examples of Sarabjit Singh Babi in Shimla and Harath Chamad of Mumbai said that people should provide moral support and strength to cancer patients.

Author of the book Ramesh Bilikere, a cancer survivor, said that he survived the disease through good treatment though doctors had lost hope. He further said that he toured across the State, met 60 cancer patients and wrote the book ‘Baduki Bandavaru’ with inputs from 14 of them. He recalled that he had come out with another book earlier titled ‘Cancer Geddha Jeevana Premi.’

Recalling her experience in an accident, Arpita Simha said that she escaped death by a whisker but ended up with metal implants at three places in the body, quipping that she could also be called an ‘Iron lady.’ She asserted that courage and determination would strengthen a weak mind.

MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, former VC Prof. K.S. Rangappa, entrepreneur H.S. Ramesh, Narayana Hospital Marketing Manger K.V. Kamath, Journalist Amshi Prasannakumar and others were present.

Cancer survivors Girish, Thejas, Dr. Jayashri Ramesh, Kantharaj, Muthappa Kamble, Basavaraj and Victor were felicitated on the occasion.
