Boulder rolls down Chamundi Hill; tragedy averted

October 16, 2017

Mysuru: A huge boulder rolled down the Chamundi Hill near the K.R. Mill Guest House, following heavy rains, here yesterday. Luckily, since no vehicle was passing by, a major tragedy was averted.

The boulder came loose around 2.30 pm and tumbled down on to the road. Since the vehicular movement was slow at that time the damage to lives, limbs and vehicles was completely avoided.

One of the main reasons for the minor landslide is because of the heavy rains pounding the city. As the boulder was not at a great height, it just slipped and landed on the road, said a Policeman to Star of Mysore.

On receiving the information, the K.R. Police personnel and other officials reached the spot and cleared the boulder by evening facilitating the free movement of vehicles.
