Mysore/Mysuru: While welcoming the State Budget for focussing on Industries, Commerce, Investment, Start- ups and Urban Development, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President K.B. Lingaraju bemoaned that the Budget has neglected the development of industrial areas in Mysuru.
Complimenting the Government for its emphasis on the implementation of State Industrial Policy 2025-30, Lingaraju, in a press release, welcomed the Government’s move to make Mysuru the second IT capital of the State after Bengaluru.
“The industrial areas in Mysuru are in poor shape, lacking in basic infrastructure, civic amenities and public transport. This has made establishment and functioning of industries all the more difficult. Some of the industries are on the verge of closure, which renders hundreds jobless. This issue needs to be addressed urgently by creating a conducive atmosphere for smooth working of industries and service providers. Though the MCCI had made several representations to the Chief Minister, all seems to have gone waste as there is no allotment of funds for infrastructure development in KIADB industrial areas of Mysuru,” Lingaraju maintained.
He appealed the CM to direct the KIADB and Hootagalli CMC officials to provide basic infrastructure in industrial areas.
