Burglars, vehicle-lifters held; goods worth Rs. 20.14 lakh seized

Mysuru: In separate cases, Saraswathipuram and Devaraja Police have arrested house burglars and two-wheeler lifters and have recovered stolen gold, silver, two-wheelers and a car, all worth Rs. 20,14,200, from them.

In the first case, Saraswathipuram Police on Dec. 9 and 23, 2024 arrested two persons on charges of committing house burglary and stealing vehicles and have recovered 240 grams gold ornaments, 1.146 kg silver articles and a Maruti 800 car in connection with a house burglary case at Channapatna East Police Station limits and vehicle lifting case at Chintamani Police limits. The recovered stolen booty is worth about Rs. 18,09,200.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad guided Saraswathipuram Inspector G. Purushotham, Sub-Inspectors T.S. Mahendra and S.S. Latha, ASI Nagaraju and staff Sheshadri, Basavaraje Urs, Mohan Kumar, Kumar, Sudeep Kumar, Rakshit Kumar, Chandrashekar and Technical Wing’s Kumar in the nabbing and recovery operation.

In the 2nd case, Devaraja Police, on Dec. 28, 2024, arrested a man near Railway Station Circle on charges of lifting vehicles and have recovered one two-wheeler worth Rs. 1.05 lakh from him.

On the same day, the Cops arrested another man near the Town Hall and recovered two two-wheelers worth Rs. 1 lakh from him.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shanthamallappa guided Devaraja Inspector T.B. Shivakumar, Sub-Inspectors Jaikeerthi and Prabhu and staff P.R. Shashikanth, R.R. Manjunath, Ravikumar Kendagannaswamy, Shashikiran, Shivaraju and Sunil Kumar in the nabbing and recovery operation.
