Bus hits scooter: Rider killed,  another injured

Mysore/Mysuru: A youth was killed while a woman sustained injuries when a KSRTC bus rammed into the scooter they were riding near Varakod Gate on T. Narasipur Road yesterday evening.

The deceased youth has been identified as Manjunath (23), son of Lokesh, a resident of Manchegowdanakoppal in city while the injured has been identified as Nagamma, a relative of Manjunath, who has been admitted to K.R. Hospital here.

Manjunath and his relative Nagamma had been to Billahalli village for the festival and were returning to Mysuru on the scooter.

They got petrol filled to the scooter at the petrol bunk near Varakod Gate and when they entered the main road, a speeding KSRTC bus hit their scooter at about 5 pm.

Police said that, Manjunath, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared that he had breathed his last midway and Nagamma has been admitted to K.R. Hospital.
