Mysuru: Even as the crucial by-polls for 15 Assembly segments in the State has got over, with the BJP winning 12 of them, several BJP leaders from city have now set their eyes on nomination to State-run Boards and Corporations.
The post of Chairman for Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Mysore Lac and Paints (Mylac), Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA), Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK), Command Area Development Authority (Cauvery) etc., that are based in city, are lying vacant after the collapse of the JD(S)-Congress coalition Government in July this year. However the appointment to Boards and Corporations is likely to be delayed as Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel are busily engaged in discussions on the much-awaited Cabinet expansion, with all the disqualified legislators who won on a BJP ticket, eyeing key Ministries.
The CM and the State BJP chief may take up nominations to Boards and Corporations only after the Cabinet expansion issue is sorted out.
In the city, most of the top BJP leaders are eyeing the key MUDA Chairman’s post. Senior leaders of the party such as Kautilya Raghu, H.V. Rajiv, City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, M.V. Ravishankar, Yashaswini Somashekar and Srivatsa are said to be front-runners for the post. District BJP President M.Shivanna, ex-President Hemanth Kumar Gowda and some local leaders too are in the race. These leaders are banking on their own top leaders in the BJP and influential RSS functionaries to land the most sought after Board in the city.
