C.M. Ibrahim to join JD(S) in Davangere

February 6, 2022

Bengaluru: “I will join JD(S), but the date is not fixed. I will inform the date of joining soon. If it is written that Kumaraswamy will be the Chief Minister, no one can stop it,” said MLC C.M. Ibrahim.

Speaking to media persons here yesterday, Ibrahim said that the unique character H.D. Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy have is that they never damage the dam but collect water through the leakage. “I will join JD(S) in Davangere, but the date is not fixed. If Khadar is equal to Ibrahim, Vishwanath is equal to Siddharamaiah. Will they make him the CM?” Ibrahim said.

Pointing out that he is conducting many political meetings in various places and saw people’s inclination towards JD(S) including support from religious leaders, Ibrahim said that Muslim community was not the vote bank for Congress.

Stating that he had spoken to former CM B.S. Yeddiyurappa over the phone but has not met him, he said that JD(S) and Congress leaders were a part of Alinga and added that after the Feb. 14 meeting at Hubballi, he would announce the date of joining JD(S).

He said that he has decided to step down from the post of MLC, and added that he has not yet resigned as he did not want to delay the implementation of the Religious Bill. Ibrahim also said that after Mar. 10, Congress would be in the third place, BJP in second and JD(S) will be in the first place. People of other communities have also faith in him, he added.
