Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak classical vocal concert by Vidu. Rupasri Shankar at 6 pm tomorrow (Jan. 17) at Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Temple, SBM Colony, Srirampura, Mysuru.

She will be accompanied by Vid. Amogha Nadadur on violin, Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga and Vid. T.N. Ajay on ghata.

Artiste’s profile: Vidu. Rupasri Shankar, presently settled in United States, had her initial lessons in music under Vidu. Deepa Srinivasan, a senior disciple of Sangeeta Kalanidhi T.K. Govindarao. Further she underwent advanced training from Vid. Gokul Chandramouli, Vidu. Vani Ramamurthi and Vidushis Ranjani and Gayatri.

Rupasri has performed extensively in the US and has won top prizes at Saptami Global and Karnatak Music Idol competitions in USA. Rupasri has also performed at several prestigious sabhas in India as well.
