Clear footpath encroachments

December 28, 2023

Sir,

A stretch of footpath close to Deaf and Dumb School and at the Traffic Signal on New Sayyaji Rao Road has been encroached by people exhibiting and selling items made from bamboo (see pic). Where is our ‘heritage city’ heading to? Why do the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials turn a blind eye to such encroachers?

Every now and then SOM readers are complaining and writing about the encroachment of footpaths and other spaces in several parts of the city but no firm action is taken by the authorities concerned.

Even if some action is taken once in a while, business will be back to square one after a few days. This is unacceptable.

Can we ask the City Corporation Commissioner to direct the officials concerned to get this footpath cleared?
