Mysore/Mysuru: The hour-long phone-in programme of Mysuru Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) A.M. Yogesh yesterday, saw a total of 23 complaints on a variety of issues including illegal issuance of 11b certificate in respect of lands, drainage problems in panchayat limits, queries on COVID vaccination and replenishment of water bodies, among others.
The phone-in programme was held at the old ZP Meeting Hall.
Lokesh, a resident of Hinkal, complained about what he called illegal issuance of 11b certificates in respect of lands coming under Hinkal Gram Panchayat (GP).
Alleging that the current Hinkal Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) has illegally issued more than 450 11b certificates, Lokesh said that following complaints, the authorities have ordered an enquiry regarding the issuance of 307 11b certificates. But despite an enquiry order, the PDO has continued to issue 11b certificates and this menace has become more rampant after Hinkal was brought under Hootagalli City Municipal Council (CMC) a few months ago, he claimed. CEO Yogesh assured to look into the matter.
H.S. Srikanta Prasad of Heggadahalli in Nanjangud taluk, complained about drainage water gushing his farmland. Claiming that his land is getting submerged by overflowing drainage waters more than often in recent days due to unplanned drainage system, he urged the CEO to take measures for addressing his problem.
He wanted the authorities to clear plastics and other wastes that have been dumped in Kabini Minor Canal that runs close to his farmland. He also wanted the Panchayat authorities to find a permanent solution to the village’s sanitation problems.
The ZP CEO directed the authorities concerned to attend to the problem.
The programme received a number of enquiries on vaccination drives at Panchayat-level.
Yogesh said that the vaccination drive at Panchayat-level has begun from Monday and priority groups will be vaccinated first, following which all other people will be vaccinated during the drive.
Alleviating the fears about the vaccine especially among rural population, he asked all eligible persons to visit their nearest Public Health Centres (PHCs) and get vaccinated for their own health and safety.
