Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 Tournament: Karnataka’s bowlers restrict Gujarat

Inspiring bowling performances by medium-pacer Vidwath Kaverappa, left-arm spinner Shubhang Hegde and B.M. Shreyas enabled hosts Karnataka to restrict Gujarat to 209 for seven in 90 overs on the first-day of the four-day Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 tie played at the SDNR Wadiyar Stadium.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Gujarat started badly losing three quick wickets with just 24-runs on the board. Opener Abhishek R. Desai (33, 5×4), skipper Supreet Bagga (31, 4×4), V.D. Shah (61,4×4) and S.S. Patel (43, 5×4) were the scorers. Medium-pacer Vidwath Kaverappa (three for 33), left-arm spinner Shubhang Hegde (two for 43) and B.M.Shreyas (two for 36) were the wicket-takers.
