Cops crack down on drunken misconduct near K.R. Hospital

October 21, 2025

Mysuru, Oct. 21 (SPN&BCT)- The presence of drunkards around K.R. Hospital has been increasing, causing inconvenience to patients and pedestrians. In response, Devaraja Police have urged Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials to provide alternative arrangements to prevent such disturbances.

On Sunday night, Devaraja Police conducted a security operation around Santhepet and K.R. Hospital to maintain law and order. They issued warnings to beggars, homeless individuals, daily wage workers, railway station commuters and pedestrians to ensure that intoxicated individuals do not cause trouble.

Additionally, shop owners in Shivarampet and Santhepet were requested to close their shops on time. Police also conducted checks on JLB Road to curb wheeling (reckless bike stunts) and took action against those found consuming alcohol, marijuana or other intoxicants within the Devaraja Station limits.

V.V. Puram Police carried out similar operations on Temple Road and Kalidasa Road, inspecting rowdy elements, mobs, suspicious individuals and drunk drivers.

The Chamundi Women’s Safety Squad, operating under Saraswathipuram, Narasimharaja, Nazarbad and Vidyaranyapuram Police Stations, raised awareness among women and senior citizens about house thefts, chain snatching, cybercrimes and traffic rules.

For assistance, citizens may call the helplines 1930 or 112.
