Cotton and silk fabrics mela by Silk India to conclude tomorrow

Mysuru: Weavers Handloom has organised ‘Silk India – 2017,’ an expo-cum-sales of cotton and silk fabrics at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Vinoba Road in city.

The exhibition, which brings together rural weavers from different parts of the country, features a vast collection of handlooms, dress materials and sarees, which are on display and sale at the venue.

Apart from a variety of  handlooms, the expo also features silver jewellery, kundan and meenakari, handmade paper, precious and semi-precious stones  including gem-stones, paintings, leather craft,  hand- crafted items on wood, ivory, glass, silver and gold, handmade jewellery, carpets, durries,  Mojaris, Jutis and much more.

The expo, which was inaugurated on Dec. 1 by Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairperson Mallige Veeresh, will conclude on Dec. 10. The ‘Silk India – 2017 exhibition is open to the public from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm.
