Owner suffers electric shock during rescue attempt

Mysore/Mysuru: A cow was electrocuted while its owner suffered electric shock when he tried to rescue his cow at Sathagalli village yesterday evening.

One Shivananjappa, a resident of Sathagalli village had left his cow for grazing yesterday during which it went near the metal support wire of an electric pole,  accidentally came in contact with the wire and got electrocuted.

Meanwhile, Shivananjappa, who was nearby, saw his cow getting electrocuted and struggling, rushed to its rescue only to suffer electric shock and he was thrown to a distance.

Soon, the incident was brought to the notice of CESC Office and a Lineman, who rushed to the spot, cut the power supply thus averting a major mishap.

Meanwhile, villagers of Sathagalli, alleging negligence on the part of CESC officials, demanded CESC to pay compensation to Shivananjappa.
