Mysore/Mysuru: Four eminent achievers from the fields of literature, journalism, education, and public administration have been selected for the 4th Annual Gandhi Sadbhavana Award presented by Adamya Rangashale, said its Founder-Secretary Chandru Mandya.
The awardees are: I. Ramesh Uthappa, journalist, Prof. Shahaseena Begum of Maharaja’s College, C. Kiran Kumar, Dy.SP, Police Training School, Channapatna and M.L. Ravishankar, Principal, Shastri Composite Pre-University College, Hunsur.
The awards will be presented during the Children’s Cultural Festival to be held on Jan. 24 at 2.30 pm at the District Kannada Sahitya Bhavan, Mysuru, by Prof. Padma Shekhar, former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Sanskrit University.
The programme will be inaugurated by Dr. Kavitha Rai, Chairperson, Department of Kannada Studies and Research, KSOU while K. M. Chandregowda, former Information Commissioner of Karnataka, will preside. T. Satish Javaregowda, Hon. Secretary of Adamya Rangashale, will deliver introductory address.
K.B. Lingaraju, President, Mysuru Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Columnist Mirle Chandrashekar and N. L. Girish, proprietor of Girish Enterprises, will be the chief guests.
From 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm, students from various schools of the district will showcase their talents at the Cultural Festival.
At 4.30 pm, ‘Adamya Chiguru – Pratibha Chetana Award’ and ‘Swami Vivekananda Social Service Award’ will be presented to achievers by senior folklorist Dr. P.K. Rajashekar. District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal will preside.
Writer T. Satish Javaregowda will speak about the awardees.
Dr. P. Shivaraju, Additional Deputy Commissioner and G. S. Gajendra Prasad, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Chamarajanagar, will present ‘Adamya Chiguru – Pratibha Chetana Award’ to multi-talented student achievers from various schools of the district.
The chief guests for this session will be P. Prashanth Gowda, former Corporator, Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy, District President, Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, Malavika Gubbivani, President, Gubbivani Trust and S. B. Sathish, Director, District Government Employees’ Association.
Swami Vivekananda Social Service Awardees
The State-level Swami Vivekananda Social Service Award will be conferred upon the following distinguished achievers from various districts and fields:
