DCRE office, which was earlier functioning in Siddarthanagar, now functions from BSNL office premises in Nazarbad
Mysore/Mysuru: The Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE) Police Station, including the offices of its Superintendent of Police (SP) and Dy.SP, which has now been shifted to BSNL office premises, near Hotel Siddartha, opposite Kuppanna Park in Nazarbad here, was inaugurated yesterday.
DIGP (Southern Range) Dr. M.B. Boralingaiah did the inauguration. The first and second floor of the building has DCRE Police Station and related offices, the jurisdiction of which spans Mysuru city and Southern Range Police limits.
Speaking on the occasion, DIGP Dr. Boralingaiah said, DCRE office earlier functioning at Siddarthanagar, has been shifted to the heart of the city. Efforts will be made towards, having an own office building in the coming days. The Station includes a composition of SP, Dy.SP, Inspector, Sub-Inspector and supporting staff.

Additional SP L. Nagesh, who is the in-charge DCRE SP, said that, ever since DCRE Police Station was opened in the city, eight cases have been registered. The cases mainly related to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and fake caste certificates, shall be investigated here.
Apart from filing the complaints related to caste abuse at nearby Police Stations, the victims are also liable to lodge the complaints at DCRE Police Station too [Mob: 0821-2344912].
