Mysuru: DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraju, has served a notice again to Satish, the accused in Udayagiri defamatory post case, to appear for inquiry on Feb. 27.
Udayagiri Police have initiated procedures for externment of Satish, who had posted a derogatory message on his social media status, triggering a tense situation, with a mob assembled in front of the Udayagiri Police station. The mob hurled stones at the Police station, leaving about seven Policemen injured in the melee.
The Police had issued a notice summoning Satish for inquiry recently, during which the latter had sought some more time to clarify about his role in the case. Besides, he had filed objection to the externment procedures, invoked against him.
Advocate Bhaskar who spoke on behalf of his client Satish said, he (Satish) had appeared before the DCP following the notice issued to him.
“We have questioned the rationale behind serving the notice, along with filing the objection. There are certain procedures to be followed for invoking externment, that raises certain queries like; Does my client have any criminal antecedents? Was my client subjected to preliminary inquiry? The evidences in your possession related to the case?”, said Bhaskar.
After receiving the written reply from the Police to queries raised, the District Court will be petitioned against externment procedures, added advocate Bhaskar.
