Delegation of Sub-Registrars from city meet IG of Registration in Bengaluru

October 23, 2024

Mysuru: A delegation of Sub-Registrars from the city are learnt to have submitted a memorandum to Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps, Kandaya Bhavan in Bengaluru, over the amended Registration (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2003 that has received President of India’s assent.

The Sub-Registrars have taken exception to how they can be dealt with punitive action, if the Officers of other Departments involved in the process of issuing Khata and other documents are at fault. The duty of the Sub-Registrars is to process the registration of properties on the basis of documents like Khata and others, provided to honour the applications, the Sub-Registrars have reportedly argued, during their meeting with the higher officials.

Meanwhile, most of the Sub- Registrars offices that were otherwise bustling with people, wore a deserted look today too.
