Mysuru: Dr. Asha Yathiraj, Senior Professor of Audiology, recently assumed charge as the Director of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), following superannuation of Dr. S. R. Savithri.

Dr. Asha Yathiraj, an alumnus of the institute, plans to make AIISH a national service centre for those with communication disorders and increase the global visibility of the institute. A BSc. and  MSc degree holder in Speech and Hearing, she has a Ph.D in Speech and Hearing. She underwent training in Aural Rehabilitation at CID, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. At present, she is also Professor of Audiology at AIISH.
