Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. K. Vageesh Krishna, a senior vocalist of great repute,will be presenting a vocal concert at the residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in the city on Sunday (Aug. 24).

He will be accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. Mysuru A. Radhesh  on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching. The concert, scheduled to start at 10.30 am, is open to all.

Profiles: Belonging to the renowned Tiger Varadacharya’s School of Music, Vageesh got initiated into music at an early age by his maternal aunt Vidu. H.S. Mahalakshmi. An M.Music from the University College of Fine Arts, Mysuru, he got his Doctorate in Music from Delhi University for his thesis ‘Aspects of Mantra, Tantra, Yantra and Agama in the compositions of Muthuswamy Deekshithar’ under the guidance of Prof. T.N. Krishnan.

A Top-Grade artiste of AIR, Vageesh got into AIR through UPSC, as a Programme Executive at AIR, Delhi, in 1980.  He served Akashvani for 34 years.

Vid. Keshav, a disciple of renowned Guru Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy, is an ‘A-grade’ Violinist from All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has performed with renowned musicians of Karnatak music across the country and beyond. 

Trained under Vid. P.G. Lakshminarayana and Vid. Mannargudi Easwaran, Vid. Radhesh is an established mridangist and graded ‘A’ in AIR.

Vid. Ramesh is from the PGL school. A graded artiste of Akashvani, he has been performing besides senior artistes for nearly five decades now.
