Mysore: In a bid to address drinking water woes in rural areas of the district, ZP CEO K.J. Jyothi has named Nodal officers at the taluk and Hobli level in the District, the details of which are as below.

The Nodal officers are required to visit villages coming under their respective jurisdiction at-least once a week for getting first hand information on the drinking water situation, sanitation, hygiene etc.

The officers are authorised to check overhead tanks and water valves and to get malfunctioning valves and motors repaired at the Gram Panchayat level itself. The officers are also directed to report to the Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer or the Assistant Executive of Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in case of severe water crisis in villages, who in turn are required to submit progress report every week to the ZP CEO.
