Demand houses for nomadic families

Mysuru,: Seeking sanction of houses for nomadic families living in Ekalavyanagar slums, over 50 slum-dwellers of Ekalavyanagar, under the banner of Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samithi (KDSS), launched an indefinite stir in front of the DC’s office here this morning.

Claiming that several homeless nomadic families living in Ekalavyanagar slums for years have been left out of the list of JnNURM housing beneficiaries, the protesters wanted the authorities to sanction JnNURM houses for them.

Alleging poor quality of works in the construction of Ekalavyanagar JnNURM houses, they urged the Government to conduct an enquiry in the execution of JnNURM projects.

KDSS office-bearers Ningaraj Malladi, H.B. Diwakar, Karya Basavanna, K.M. Devendra, Banahalli Somanna, Puttalakshmamma and C. Mohan Kumar led the protest.
