May 19, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, who is also the District Electoral Officer, said that electoral  mapping of voters in the district will go on till June 19.

Presiding over a meeting of officials and  stakeholders ahead of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process at ZP hall here on Monday, he said that the voter mapping in all 11 Assembly segments will continue till June 19 and the SIR will be taken up only after this process is completed.

Pointing out that the Election Commission has directed for cent percent voter mapping, he said submission of Voter IDs will make the process faster.

Asserting that there will be no rejection of genuine voters, he said officials will be on field work during the entire process.

Clarifying that there is no compulsion of production of Voter ID cards, Reddy said that any other legal documents or cards can be shown, which will be verified.

“Once the SIR process starts, all the voters will be given enumeration forms and BLOs (Booth Level Officers) will visit every house three times. During the drive, enumeration forms will be collected from voters”, he said.

Asserting that there is no question of dropping any genuine voter from the electoral rolls, the DC said that all political parties can alert their BLOs and take measures for avoiding any duplication. He further said that all booths and slums will be covered during the drive and there is no question of deleting names.
