Orders EC to declare R. Ravindra Kumar of Congress, who had come second, as the new Corporator

Mysuru: As the case pertaining to the fake caste certificate given by Ward 18 Corporator Guruvinayak of BJP, was proved,  the Court has nullified his (Guruvinayak) win and has ordered the Election Commission (EC) to declare R. Ravindra Kumar of Congress, who had come second in the election, as the new Corporator.

It may be recalled that in the Corporator election held recently in city, Ravindra had accused that Guruvinayak of the BJP, though belonged to Parivara community  had given a fake caste certificate as Nayaka community and had contested the election.

Ravindra had lodged a complaint with the DC in this regard, following which the DC had submitted a report to the Court and a case was registered.

The Judges, who heard the case, found that the accusation was true and ordered nullification of Guruvinayak’s victory in the election.
