Film production: Man cheated of Rs. 27.64 lakh

November 8, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: A 33-year-old man has been cheated of Rs. 27.64 lakh after he was lured into film production by promising high returns.

The man, who has been cheated, is K.S. Siddarth, former Business Development Officer of Sundaram Finance and a resident of Vivekananda Circle in city.

While working in the finance company, Siddarth’s colleague Sridhar S. Navunda, who was working as a Cluster Manager, told him (Siddarth) that his brother Bharat S. Navunda and sister Nagarathna S. Navunda had invested in film production and were getting high returns.

Sridhar, from July 27, 2021 till Feb. 1, 2022, took Rs. 55 lakh for the investment from Siddarth and had returned only Rs. 27,35,800, but failed to return the balance of Rs. 27,64,200. When Siddarth demanded the remaining money, Sridhar allegedly threatened him with life, according to the complaint.

Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
