Flex boards marring beauty of Mysuru

March 5, 2023

Sir,

Of late, fans, friends and followers of politicians, irrespective of parties, have started erecting big flex boards at prominent Circles and corners of main roads in the city.

The lamp posts are also not spared, so also traffic sign posts either on Outer Ring Road or other main roads, which are replete with boards wishing for birthdays of their favourite leaders. It is also a sort of publicity campaign for the leader, followers and the political parties they belong to.

I feel the MCC, which comprises people’s representatives belonging to several parties, has to start cracking down on such boards and see to it that rules and regulations are not flouted.

Advertisements in newspapers or social and tele media are acceptable, but not at the cost of beauty of Mysuru city.

The MCC has to take suo motu action in this regard.
