Mysore/Mysuru: Eminent flautist Ravi Shankar Mishra will be presenting a flute recital at Bhakti Gaurava Gita Centre (BGGC), #2633, 2nd Main, Vontikoppal, on June 17 at 5.30 pm.

He will be accompanied on tabla by Bhimashankar Bidanur.

BGGC Chamber Concerts is a programme dedicated to promote rich heritage of Indian Classical Music through intimate Chamber Concerts.

Sur Mani Ravi Shankar Mishra is one of the finest flautists of the young generation. He started his music lessons with his father Pandit Dinesh Chandra Mishra.  In 1994, he was fortunate to be accepted as a disciple of flute maestro Pandit Nityanand Haldipur (Mumbai) who belongs to the lineage of legendary flautist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh.

He has received guidance from late Padma Bhushan Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan whom he reveres as his mentor and guide. He is a regular performer for Yoga students and music lovers.

Apart from being a versatile flautist, he is also a dedicated guru and a master craftsman of Indian bamboo flutes.
