Girl swallows coin; choked to death

Mysore/Mysuru: A four-year-old girl was choked to death after she swallowed a five rupee coin at Hirekyathanahalli village in Hunsur taluk yesterday. She had been to her granny’s house when the tragedy struck. 

The girl, named Kushi, accidentally swallowed the coin while playing at her grandmother’s house and began coughing continuously. Alerted by this, the family members rushed her to a nearby hospital where it was discovered that she had gulped the coin. 

 As the girl was finding it difficult to breathe, she was then taken to a hospital in Mysuru where she died. According to  the X-ray, the coin was stuck in her throat.
