Chamarajanagar: Hours before Sunil Bose submitted his nomination papers for the Chamarajanagar Constituency, ‘Go Back’ posters surfaced in various parts of Chamarajanagar town. These posters targeted Sunil Bose, accusing him of involvement in the sand mafia.
The ‘Go Back’ posters labelled Sunil Bose as the ‘king of the sand mafia’ and were found pasted at several locations, including Bhuvaneshwari Circle, Kollegal Road, Nanjangud Road and others. It is alleged that a few miscreants were responsible for these posters.
Upon learning of the situation, the Police promptly removed the posters. However, some individuals had already captured images and videos of the posters, which were subsequently widely shared on social media platforms.
Expressing strong disapproval of the poster display, Sunil Bose emphasised that he had been acquitted of charges related to sand mining by the High Court. He accused the rival BJP of engaging in a misinformation campaign to tarnish his image ahead of the elections.
Sunil Bose asserted, “If the allegations of sand mining against me are proven, I will withdraw my nomination.”
Bose’s father, Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, dismissed the incident as a conspiracy. He stated, “We have conducted meetings across Chamarajanagar and have not encountered any opposition.”
