Gowdike Basavanna (84), a resident of Dhanagalli in the taluk and a former Gram Panchayat member, passed away yesterday at a private hospital in Mysuru following brief illness.

He leaves behind three sons and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Dhanagalli Veerashaiva Burial Grounds this afternoon.
