April 16, 2024

Hunsur: A woman, belonging to Hakki Pikki nomadic community and a resident of Pakshirajapura in Hunsur taluk, who had gone on a business trip to Eastern Africa, has died in Sudan.

The deceased woman is Nandini and the news about her death was informed to her family members by other Hakki Pikki community members who are in Sudan.

Nandini’s husband, four daughters and a son, who are residing in Pakshirajapura, after hearing the news of Nandini’s death, went to former MLA H.P. Manjunath’s  house in Mysuru along with a few villagers, informed the MLA about the death and urged him to help bring the body of Nandini from Sudan.

Responding to their plea, Manjunath called a senior officer at the Chief Minister’s Office over the phone and arrangements were made to bring the body from Sudan after State Government Chief Secretary Rajaneesh Goyal spoke to the Indian Embassy officials at Sudan.

The body of Nandini is expected to arrive in Hunsur tomorrow (Apr. 17).
