Mysuru: Bhramara Trust of Y.T. and Madhuri Thathachari has selected Vid. Harish Pandav, Saxophone artiste, to receive the Prof. G.T. Narayana Rao Award for outstanding young instrumentalist within Karnataka, in Karnatak music. The award carries a cash prize, citation and a memento.
The award will be presented to him at a function on Jan. 18 (Saturday) at 6 pm at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam.

Vid. Harish Pandav has been trained in Saxophone by Vid. N. Jayaram and Vid. H.A. Ningaraj Pandav. Currently he is training under Vidushi Gayathri Sathyanarayana in Mysuru. He is also a performing vocalist.
Vid. Harish Pandav has earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Mysore, M.A. in Karnatak Music from Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music University and won a Gold Medal. He has also completed Vidwat exams conducted by the Government of Karnataka, securing distinction.
Vid. Harish Pandav is a high-B grade artiste in All India Radio. The awards he has won include: Sushameendra Kala Puraskar from the Sushameendra Seva Prathisthana; Rajyotsava Award from the Kannada and Culture Department, Mandya District; “Samskruthika Prathibe” Award from D. Banumaiah’s Arts and Commerce College; “Kala Sourabha” Award from Mysore Dasara Exhibition Committee.
To name a few among the many Sabhas where he has performed are: Bangalore Gayana Samaja; JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru; Ganabharathi; Sangeetha Shravanti Sangeetha Sabha and Vidwan Nethi Sriramulu Sharma Sangeetha Sabha, Hyderabad.
