April 28, 2024

Mandya: Former Chief Minister and Janata Dal (Secular)-BJP coalition candidate H.D. Kumaraswamy and his Congress rival Venkataramane Gowda (Star Chandru) have gone into a relax mood, after the conclusion of Lok Sabha election in Mandya Constituency on Friday.

For the last one month, both the candidates were involved in hectic campaigning taking out road shows, attending rallies and public meetings along with MLAs and local leaders. Adding to them, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had been addressing the public rallies.

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa gave a star touch to the campaign by taking out a road show in favour of Congress nominee ‘Star’ Chandru.

Kumaraswamy who hit the campaign trail soon after convalescing from heart surgery in a Chennai hospital, involved himself like a busy bee for a fortnight. Not just Mandya Constituency, he had also extensively toured other LS Constituencies like Mysuru-Kodagu, Chamarajanagar (SC Reserve), Hassan, Bangalore Rural and three Constituencies in Bengaluru city, Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru and Shimoga

Following the elections, he (HDK) has slipped into a relax mode at his farm house in Kethaganahalli near Bidadi. After two days, he will be leaving on a campaign tour of 14 Lok Sabha Constituencies in                                           North Karnataka.

‘Star Chandru’ who felt tired in sweltering heat visited a part of the Constituency on the day of elections on Friday, left to Bengaluru for rest following day on Saturday.
