Mysore/Mysuru: In a hit-and-run case, a two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle rammed into the bike he was riding near Belagola Paper Mills in Srirangapatna taluk on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as K. Harish (29), son of Karpa and a resident of Kyathanahalli village in Pandavapura taluk.
Harish, who works as a temporary driver at BEML near Koorgalli, finished his night shift and left his work place on his bike, when an unidentified vehicle, which came from the opposite direction, rammed into the bike throwing Harish into the roadside bushes and killing him on the spot.
Motorists, who saw the accident, informed the Police and Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted yesterday morning and the body was handed over to the family members.
KRS Police, who have registered a case, have collected footages from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the accident spot and have launched a hunt to trace the unidentified vehicle.
