Bengaluru: Prof. (Dr.) T. Ananthapadmanabha, Founder- Director of the Mysore University School of Engineering, was presented the Outstanding Service Award-2025 by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), Bangalore Chapter, at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in recognition of his long-standing contributions to power engineering as an academician, researcher, consultant and mentor.

Over several decades, Prof. Ananthapadmanabha has played a significant role in strengthening technical education, guiding research scholars and supporting industry through expert advisory services in power systems engineering.

In his address, he recalled that his interest in electrical engineering began during childhood rural electrification visits with his father. He dedicated the honour to his mentors Prof. K. Parthasarathy and Professor H.P. Khincha, and described receiving the award at IISc — where he once studied — as a deeply memorable event.

He had also served at NIE, VTU Regional Office and Institution of Engineers (India), Mysore Local Centre.
