Hundreds participate in BAI Blue Sand Green Marathon

Mysuru: Marking World Environment Month, Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysuru Centre and Mysore Builders Charitable Trust (MBCT) together had organised BAI Blue Sand Green Marathon in city this morning.

Over 400 people participated in the event which featured 5km and 10km run for men and women. Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna and UoM VC Dr.G. Hemantha Kumar flagged off the 5km and 10km run respectively at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangotri. The run passed through SJCE and Bogadi road and back to the starting point.

The winners

5km Men: 1. K.A. Bharat 2. Lakshman 3. H.D. Rama.

Women: 1. Thippavva Sannaki 2. Priyanka Gopi 3. G. Disha.

10km Men: 1. Rahul 2. Nirmit 3. Venkatesh.

Women: 1. K.M. Archana 2. T.P. Asha  3. C.D. Ranjani.

The prize for 5kms run was Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000. For 10km run it was Rs. 7,000, Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 2,000.

Event Organising Committee Chairman B.S. Dinesh, Secretary Ratna Rao, G.D. Krishna and others were present.
