‘Shantaveri Gopala Gowda was an epitome of tolerance’

Mysuru: District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru and Dr. K.S. Gowdaiah Pratishtana, K.R. Nagar, had organised a programme titled ‘Shantaveri Gopala Gowda – Ondu Nenapu’ at  the District Sahitya Bhavan in Vijayanagar 1st Stage here recently.

Inaugurating the programme, scholar Dr. Kalegowda Nagawara hailed Shantaveri Gopala Gowda as an honest politician with socialistic thoughts coupled with a good literary consciousness. He recalled that Gopala Gowda, as an Opposition Member during D. Devaraj Urs Government, always fought for the problems of people.

Speaking on the occasion, critic Dr. Nandish Hanche

observed that tolerance was missing among politicians today who sometimes behave as goondas. He praised Gopala Gowda as an epitome of tolerance who should be emulated by all politicians.

Retired Prasaranga Director Dr. K.T. Veerappa, Parishat District President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Pratishtana President G. Prakash and Theatre Artiste Rajashekar Kadamba were present.
