‘You bring rules, we don’t care…’ This seems to be the attitude of illegal roadside food carts which were cleared by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) a week back. The above picture is today’s scene on Kalidasa Road stretch between Chandrakala Hospital and MLA G.T. Devegowda’s house in Vijayanagar.

As usual, they have opened the carts on footpaths, spread chairs on the roadside and the people who are habitual customers park on the other side of the road, which is already being repaired, blocking the road almost completely.

I don’t see any MCC officials forcing them to close or issue warnings. Left like this, the whole action by MCC seems like another stunt. Hope they react quickly.
